Woof! Sully the Therapy Dog is here at SRHS!

We are excited to announce the introduction of a therapy-dog program within selected English courses at Shore Regional High School. As part of this program, English teacher Mrs. Chelsea Patberg will bring Sully, a certified therapy dog, to her classes on selected/scheduled school days.

Within this program, Sully will be able to provide services to students who may be struggling or simply need a non-judgemental friendly face to greet them. Sully, a Goldendoodle, has been certified since September 2017, and takes part in bi-monthly library "Read to a Dog" programs, as well as bi-monthly visits to nursing homes.

The positive reviews from parents of struggling readers, relatives of loved ones whose spirits are lifted by a dog visit, and scientific research consistently show that therapy dogs have many social, emotional, and psychological benefits. We are very excited to bring this program to your children on a regular basis, and their reactions to this news has been enthusiastic. Please read the following information to better understand how this program will be utilized, and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
