  • Many colleges and universities give priority consideration and award packages to students who complete their FAFSA by January 31. HESAA and NJASFAA would like you to remind your senior class that the FAFSA should be completed as soon as possible. Although many of your students may have already completed the FAFSA, others still have not. Processing can take several weeks. The earlier your seniors apply, the earlier they can make informed decisions about their college selection. You can fill out the FAFSA as early as October 1.

Please direct your seniors and their families to our website pages at www.HESAA.org and www.NJFAFSADays.org .There, they will find a YouTube video on how to file the FAFSA, information on how to create an FSAid (Federal Student Aid ID) and the 8 Steps to Apply for Federal & State Student Aid. Also featured online is a helpful PDF file provided in both English and Spanish. Feel free to print and distribute these flyers to your seniors as appropriate.

If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Austin at saustin@hesaa.org or 609-588-3300, ext. 1402.
