    SBName: Sarah Borriello

    Grade: 12

Role Model: My role model is my great grandmother Marion. Throughout my childhood, I have luckily have had many female role models around me. My great grandmother is someone who I have and will always look up to. Her entire life she sustained her class and was always sure to hold her head high. She was always sure to have her nails and hair done. Although, her life was not easy. She lived during the violent times of the twentieth century and went through her own struggles. Following the death of my great grandfather in 1991, she opened her own clothing store in Brooklyn named "Marion's". To this day and following her passing, it continues to thrive and as a family we continue to keep her legacy alive. She was personable and loving to each person she met. Her perseverance is something I could never match, but it guides me every single day. I love and miss her, but I know she is always with me and guiding me.

Teacher with the most impact: The teacher who has impacted me the most is Mr. Nicol. Mr. Nicol has been my math teacher for the past three years (Geometry, Honors Algebra Two, and currently Honors Math Analysis). As somebody who is interested in becoming an educator one day, I pay attention to what my teachers do to see what helps me learn so I may possibly help my students in the same way. The way Mr. Nicol has helped me is simply unmatched. Mr. Nicol's teaching and willingness to assist any student is something I admire. He is able to control a classroom and explain each lesson thoroughly. He creates personal relationships with his students and creates a comfortable environment for all. Not only has he taught me the laws of sine, but also how to be a better person. The life lessons I have learned from him are some I will never forget. Mr. Nicol has believed in me when I did not believe in myself. He took me under his wing these past three years, and I thank him for all he has done for me. I will forever be grateful for him, and I will be sure to tell my students about him one day.

What do you like most about Shore Regional? For me personally, Shore Regional has a ton to offer! There are so many ways to get involved, and find some new interests. I enjoy how staff members are encouraging and allow their students to reach their full potential. I love the relationships that I am have and continued to create in my four years here. I love the variety in class, clubs, and sports options. There is a family bond created in our community and it is something that makes me smile every time I walk into the building.

Activities: At Shore Regional, I am involved in multiple activities. I have been enrolled in both honors classes since I was a freshman, and three IB classes (Film, English, and History). Outside of academics, I am a member of the National Honor Society, the Shore Chorus, the president of the Video Production Club, a producer and cast member of Shore Players Theatrical Productions, I do the morning announcements on blue days, and also apart of the Student Advisory Committee. Athletically, I played on both the JV and Varsity Girls Tennis teams, managed the Bowling team, and managed the Softball team.

Future Goals/Plans: In ten years I see myself being successful in the film industry. I see myself growing not only occupationally but also as a person. I hope to be directing films and inspiring audiences around the world. I would also like to work in education and help students in becoming young adults in their society.

    Grade: 11

Role Model: My role model is my parents. Throughout my years, my parents have always held my best interest at heart, which I greatly appreciate. They have always been there for me and have guided me to know the difference between right and wrong. So much of what I have done is because of them and how they have supported me throughout my life. Knowing that I have people like my parents that love and believe in me keeps me going every day because I don’t want to let those people down.

Teacher with the most impact: Throughout my years at Shorealmost all of the teachers have had an impact on me in some type of way. From every single teacher I will normally learn something new about life. Therefore, almost every teacher has had an impact on me. Whether that be in history, English, math, or even in gym.

What do you like most about Shore Regional? What I personally like best about Shore Regional High School is the wide variety in teaching. Shore allows a student to learn basically anything that they wish too. They have a wide variety in electives which allows most students to learn something that they may want to do later down the road. This can prepare most people for what they may actually pursue in life.

Activities: The activity that I am currently involved in is powerlifting.

Future Goals/Plans: Where I personally see myself in ten to fifteen years is living my best life. Doing what I love to do as a job is the most important goal for me personally. On top of that is surrounding myself with good people who have my best interest at heart.
