    Name: Charlotte MinervaCM

    Grade: 11

Role Model: Out of all people, my parents are the biggest role models to me. My parents have taught me so many skills in life that I will need to know forever and will someday teach my own kids. They have always believed in me that I could achieve anything that I set my mind to. Both my mom and my dad motivate me by always telling me to have fun and work hard at whatever I do.

Teacher with the most impact: All of the teachers at Shore are great, but out of all of the ones that I’ve had, Mrs. Secko stands out to me the most. Mrs. Secko always has a positive attitude, she helps build my confidence level, and she pushes me to be the best version of myself that I can be. Mrs. Secko was my freshman year English teacher as well as my Collegiate Writing teacher and I was so lucky to have her for two of my classes. I will always remember her valuable lessons that helped me improve my writing and reading skills. Mrs. Secko overall has a wonderful personality and she is always in a cheerful mood which is one of my favorite things about her.

What do you like most about Shore Regional? My favorite thing about Shore Regional are the teachers. All of them are so kind and are always supportive of their students. The teachers are always willing to help their students as much as possible and they love when the students work hard resulting in good grades. They always push me to be my best while making sure I am comfortable and confident in my own abilities.

Activities: I am enrolled in IB classes and an Honors class at Shore Regional. I’m proud to say that this year I took a chance to challenge myself. As for clubs, I am involved in multiple such as Interact, S.A.W., Conquer Cancer Club, F.E.A., S.A.D.D., and the Red Cross Club. I play three sports at Shore which are varsity tennis in the fall, spring track, and I am joining the winter track team this upcoming winter. I love the sports that I am a part of at Shore because I have developed so many new friendships that will last a long time.

Future Goals/Plans: In ten to fifteen years, I see myself becoming a teacher and living a happy life with my future children and family. I am so excited to teach my own kids one day important skills that my own parents taught me that they will need to know in their life.

    CCName: Charles Creighton

    Grade: 12

Role Model: My role models are my parents. Everything that I have accomplished can be attributed to them. They have provided a foundation for me to become a strong student and a great person. They have always been there for me through the highs and lows of my life, highlighting important life lessons and providing unconditional love. As I get older and evolve as a person, I realize that the many things they have done, and continue to do, have a such a meaningful impact on my life.

Teacher with the most impact: Mrs. Minze has had the most impact on me as a student, but, more importantly, as a person. She has taught me Italian for the past 4 years. There has never been a day where I have dreaded going to her class. Even when we are learning less interesting units, like conjugating verbs, Mrs. Minze always keeps the class engaging and interesting. She incorporates creative learning techniques such as review games or compelling videos that demonstrate and reinforce what we are learning. Sometimes I feel that I learn the most in her class when it does not necessarily involve Italian. Mrs. Minze has a contagious positive attitude which motivates the class to want to learn. She often starts class by asking about our weekend or recent sports events. She is genuinely interested in learning about our lives beyond the classroom. These seemingly simple conversations in Italian set the tone for what the rest of the block has in store. There have been times where I have not had the best days, and Italian with Mrs. Minze has turned many days around for me.

What do you like most about Shore Regional? The thing that I like best about Shore Regional is the tight knit culture that it fosters. For the most part, everybody knows everybody. This familiarity nurtures an environment where existing friendships are strengthened and new ones are encouraged. Another thing that I value at Shore Regional is the balance of academics and athletics. Although we have a rich history of athletic success at Shore, it is surpassed by our academic excellence and strong sense of personal integrity. This is something that I think is very underrated when talking about Shore Regional.

Activities: I am a 4 year varsity boys soccer player. I am also involved in many clubs such as class council (Co-Treasurer), National Honor Society, and Interact.

Future Goals/Plans: In 10-15 years, I see myself having graduated from college, working at a job I love in the business or communications industry, surrounded by people I love and who love me.
