HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 1998-2006
    Rosanne Primavera
    Shore Regional Class of 1982
Rosanne is another of Shore’s athletes with great versatility.  This is evidenced by her winning 10 varsity letters’ 3 in basketball, 3 in field hockey and 4 in softball.  In basketball, Rosanne was a 3-year varsity starter and was Co-Captain of the team in her junior and senior years.

Rosanne continued her exploits on the softball diamond where she was a 4-year starter and Co-Captain in her junior and senior years.  During her stint she received team MVP recognition as well as Asbury Park Press Athlete of the Week. She went on to gain All-Shore and All-State awards in both 1981 and 1982.  At various points in her career she led the team for the season in hits, RBI’s, extra base hits, and assists.

Rosanne’s exploits were equally evident on the field hockey squad where again she was a 3-year varsity starter and Co-Captain in her junior and senior years.  At one point she held the record for most consecutive games scoring or assisting at 26. She also scored 2 goals in the State Championship Game vs. Butler. She was recognized with awards for All-Monmouth and All-Shore in 1980 and 1981.  Her outstanding career earned her a full scholarship to the Division I University of Rhode Island, after considering offers from 4 other universities.

At URI, Rosanne continued her excellence by being a 4 year starter and Co-Captain in her junior and senior years.  Her high level of play continued at this level as well, as she earned All-American Honorable Mention in 1985 and 1986.  She received her B.A. degree in 1986 and subsequently earned an M.A.T. at Monmouth University in 1994, with a Certificate as a Teacher of Handicapped.

Much of Rosanne’s versatility can be seen in her awards and honors received not only on Shore’s Athletic fields but in other venues as well.  She was an Academic Honor Roll student for 3 straight years; National Honor Society for 2 years; in “Who’s Who Among American High School Students”, and participated in the American Legion Auxiliary Girl’s State program.  She played in the Garden State Games for the Bronze Medal winners in 1984. She also received awards as Most AThletic Senior Girl, Most Outstanding Senior Girl, and Female Academic/Athletic Award.

Rosanne has maintained her connection with sports as an official in field hockey and basketball.  She has also coached successfully at the grammar school and high school levels. During her spare time she has coached at Brookdale Community College sports camps and played softball at the Tournament level, winning another MVP title at Mercer County College in 1992.

Rosanne is now married to Paul J. Christopher, living locally in West Long Branch and works in the education field, having been employed by Monmouth County Vocational School District, KIVA High School, and Jersey City State College.
