    Sue is more evidence of Shore’s ability to produce versatile excellent athletes.  She earned 9 varsity letters in her career; 3 each in Basketball, Field Hockey, and Softball.  As further evidence of her leadership qualities, she was named Co-Captain in all three sports in her senior year.

    While a 3-year starter on the basketball team, her greatest accomplishments were to come on the softball diamond and the grass and turf of field hockey.  Sue was also a 3-year starter in softball. She was recognized in both her junior and senior years with awards for All-Division, All-County and All-Shore.  To top it off, Sue received a first Team All-State honor in her 1982 senior year.

    On the Field Hockey team, Sue was also a 3-year starter.  She again received All-Division honors as a junior and went on to garner All-Division, All-County, All-Shore, and 1st team All-State in her senior 1981 season of competition.  Sue also was a huge part of the 43 consecutive wins achieved from 1979 to 1981.

    After receiving the Diane Chapman Outstanding Female Athlete award in 1982, Sue began her college career at perennial Division III power, Trenton State College, a/k/a, College of New Jersey.  Sue became a 4-year varsity starter and enjoyed a 1983 National Championship. In 1985 her senior year, she became Captain of the team and led them to another National Championship. For her superior efforts, Sue received All-American honors in 1984 and 1985.

    After graduation from Trenton State, Sue began her coaching career at Wall Township before joining Monmouth Regional’s staff as Field Hockey Coach in 1987 where she continues today.  She also doubled as Monmouth Regional’s Softball Coach from 1988 to 1995. She has now also taken up the duties in 1997 as Head Lacrosse Coach.

    Sue continued her education with a Masters degree from Rider University.  After having taught for 8 years as Health and Physical Education teacher, she is currently a guidance counselor at Monmouth Regional.  Sue continues to live locally in Oakhurst.
