    1963 Football Team
It was only the second year of existence for the new Shore Regional Blue Devils Football Team, but that did not deter their success as they completed the season with an undefeated record of 8-0-1, only tying parochial power Notre Dame of Connecticut.  Without a home field, “home games” were played at Long Branch and Red Bank High Schools.  The talented and aggressive defense posted five shutouts while the offense, led by All Shore running back Eric Swenson with 13 TD’s, second leading scorer in the Shore, continued to dominate its opponents on both sides of the ball. Team Captains were Swenson and Joe Centanni.

The coaching staff was led by Head Coach Dave Wachter and assisted by Al DeSantis, Jack Jones and Bob Flanagan.
