    Tim Britton, a 1983 graduate, was an outstanding running back and many considered him to be the best runner in Shore’s history and one of the all -time great running backs in the Shore Conference.

    In Tim’s junior year, several games indicate his prowess on the gridiron.  In a game versus Ocean Township, he ran 14 times for 142 yards and 3 TD’s.  He followed that up with another outstanding effort against Red Bank Regional gaining 135 yards in 24 carries while scoring 3 times.  In the final game of the season, the CJ Group II Championship, Tim carried the ball 16 times for 136 yards to lead the Devils to the State Championship.  He finished the season gaining 1250 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns.

    Tim continued his stellar play during his senior year. In a game versus Ocean, he had 19 carries for 113 yards, 2 receptions for 71 yards, a 39-yard kickoff return and scored 4 times.

    In the CJ Group II Final versus Princeton, Tim had 19 carries for 125 yards and 3 receptions for 65 yards while scoring 2 touchdowns in a 21-3 victory and another State Championship.

    He finished his Senior season with 1255 yards rushing, 24 receptions for 434 yards, scoring 25 touchdowns and led the Shore in scoring and was fifth in the State with 150 points.

    Tim’s career totals were 508 carries for 3,196 yards, 600 receiving yards and 45 touchdowns.  He as recognized as an All Shore performer in his Junior and Senior seasons.

    Tim was also a valuable member of the Blue Devil baseball team during his scholastic career.
