    Name:  Kaitlyn Sudowsky

    Grade:  12

Role Model:  I consider my role models to be my parents because they have instilled in me the values and discipline that I have today. My mom has continued to support me throughout my academic career in all aspects, and my dad taught me that hard work will pay off even if you do not see immediate results.

Teacher with the most impact:  While all teachers at Shore Regional have had an impact on me, the teachers that stand out to continue to inspire me are Ms. Novak, who taught me Honors US History 1 and IB History 11, Mrs. Fagen, who taught me AP Biology. Ms. Novak always had a positive attitude and optimistic outlook on school and the world around us. Mrs. Fagen last year heightened my curiosity in biology.

What do you like most about Shore Regional?  The best aspect of Shore Regional is the eagerness of teachers to help their students learn and succeed. All of the teachers are approachable and willing to take time out of their day if you need help. Many teachers take “Students First” seriously because of their passion in teaching and willingness to go the extra mile, even if it is to help one student.

ActivitiesI am involved in the INTERACT Rotary Club, SAW, and the Video Production Club as a member of the Blue Devil News team. I also was captain of the fall and winter cheerleading squad and captain of the softball team. I volunteer around the community when I can, but you can most frequently see me at the West Long Branch Lutheran Church of the Reformation Food Pantry when they need volunteers.

Future Plans:  In ten years, I can see myself graduating from CU Boulder, majoring in Biology, and a job working with animals. I aspire to be someone who promotes happiness around me.

Teacher with the most impact:  There are so many teachers that have helped me along the way. Mrs. Schmid (Honors Calculus) has pushed me to become a better student and to work hard. She has taught me that giving up is never the answer and with plenty of practice you will eventually become good at anything. Mrs. Minze (Italian) is a great teacher and has made the past four years of learning a language an amazing experience. Not only has she taught me language but she helped me realize to enjoy what I have. I learned that I should take advantage of every opportunity and to have fun with it. Mr. Rankin (Gym/Health) has showed me what it's truly like to love a job. There is never a disappointing day with him and I know he is always ready to give everything he has for his students.I look up to him for that and I hope I can feel the same way about my future job.

What do you like most about Shore Regional?  The community at Shore Regional is the best. Everyone gets along and has a strong relationship with each other. Coming to school isn't a problem when I know I'm going to be around a great group of students and teachers.

Activities:  Varsity Soccer, Basketball and Baseball

Future Plans:  In the future, I want to have a successful job that I enjoy waking up for everyday. I want to continue to become a better person and make others around me feel the same way.
