    Alyssa Costello

    Name:  Alyssa Costello

    Grade:  11

Role Model:  Although there are many influential people in my life, I believe that my mom is my biggest role model because she, along with my dad, push me to be the best person that I can be. They taught me to treat everyone I meet with equal respect and to never judge a book by its cover. She is also the hardest worker I've ever met. When my mom sets her mind to something, she follows through with it, no matter what obstacles are in her way.

Teacher with the most impact:  The teacher that I believe has had the most impact on me is Mrs. Lavin who I had for 2-D design and currently have for IB Visual Art. She has pushed me to pursue my love of art and has taught me that it is good to be unique. Self-expression is encouraged with the many materials and mediums that Mrs. Lavin has to offer. There are not many requirements for each project which allows for more creativity and individuality.

What do you like most about Shore Regional?  What I like best about Shore Regional High School is the welcoming environment. You walk in the door and there's always someone there to greet you. Walking down the hallways, there’s always something going on and the teachers always say hello when you pass them.

Activities:  I am currently involved in Cross Country, Winter Track, Spring Track, SAW, Interact, and the Great Books Club.

Future Plans:  I plan to attend a four year college where I would like to major in mathematics and minor in business. After that I hope to travel the world and settle down with a family somewhere warm. The most important thing to me is finding a job I love and a home I'm happy in.

Personal Quote:   "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us" -J.R.R. Tolkien

    Thoughts from her teachers...

    • Alyssa is not only a phenomenal student, but of the most sincere and most affable students I've ever met. -- Mr. Carney (Latin)

    William Bezerra

    Name:  William Bezerra

    Grade:  11

Role Model:  It may seem childish but it is Ed Sheeran.  He's a guy who has not let success or any of his victories change the way he views and thinks about the world.  It also helps that he's very good at writing about romance.

Teacher with the most impact:  Mrs. Cronk.  The one class that effectively made me better as a student, person and gave me a clearer image of what I wanted was Student Leadership freshman year. The class allowed me to improve oratory as well as become a smarter and more cultured individual.

What do you like most about Shore Regional? The staff really stands out. Everyone is pleasant and can easily be talked to.

Activities:  Contemporary Arts and Sciences Association as well as DeMolay in NJ. Casa is just an amazing time while DeMolay teaches me things that I can't find anywhere else. DeMolay improves my speaking and writing qualities as well as allows me to meet some of the coolest people I've ever seen or met in my life.

Future Goals/Plans:  Working in International relations between the U.S. and Brazil.

Personal Quote:  "A good man should ruin a woman's lipstick, not her mascara."

    Thoughts from his teachers...

    • William is a true emblem of Shore Regional's caring student body; he is quick to help fellow students, has a great sense of humor and is a respectful young man.  --Vanessa Miano (Mathematics)

    • William's passion as a genuinely intrinsic learner and his contributions to this community as an international ambassador make him an exemplar in Shore Regional.  --Mr. Carney (Latin)

    • William is respectful and courteous to both classmates and faculty, as well as a model student within the classroom.  -- Mr. Malfa (Industrial Arts)
