SOTM Crest 2015
    November 2015
    Ian Hendricksen Name:  Ian Hendricksen
    Grade: 11
Role Model:  My role model is my father, as he is the one who taught me to work my hardest and never be satisfied with my accomplishments; he taught me that there is always more that I can do, and has pushed me to do things that I never thought I could do. Coming from a poor family and neighborhood, he has truly changed his life and became successful, and I admire and respect this quality, and wish to replicate it within my own life.
Teacher with the most impact:  Mr. Labush, who I had for English 2 Honors, has had the most impact on me as a result of the study of literature and English in his classroom. The books we read, especially when analyzed in class, taught me many things about the world, and Mr. Labush helped me to understand myself and the people that surround me, while pushing me to become a better writer and transfer such thoughts onto paper. He taught me about life, and gave me many important lessons that I will use throughout the many years to come.
Activities:  I am currently involved in the Varsity Ice Hockey program and the Interact program.
Future Goals/Plans:  I plan to go to college immediately after graduating from Shore Regional, and I hope to study science and engineering there. I would like to obtain a Master's Degree and find a job in which I do some form of research.
Personal Quote:   “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived” - Henry David Thoreau
    Erin Cunneff Name:  Erin Cunneff
    Grade: 12
Role Model:  This is an easy one. My role model is my Kindergarten Teacher, Mrs. Valentino. Her smile is the kind that not only lights up an entire room, but will make you join along too. Her radiant energy and loving persona are so heart warming and inspiring. She is truly a wonderful woman. I would not be the person I am today without having her as an early influence who taught me that a smile and positive vibes are two of the most important elements of life. She is beyond words kind, amazingly empowering, and "beary" special.
Teacher with the most impact:  The faculty at Shore are wonderful; they all truly care about their students. Each teacher has impacted me positively, especially Mrs. Fagen and Señora Sher. Mrs. Fagen is absolutely fascinating. She possesses such expansive scientific knowledge and is truly passionate about her students and their learning. I thank her for deepening my love of biology in her classes and influencing me to continue my studies of the sciences. Señora Sher has never failed to make me smile or give me a good laugh. As my Spanish teacher for 3 years, she has continually amazed me with her stories of living in Spain and learning the language. Señora Sher is a real life inspiration. She encourages me to never stop talking and continue my travels.
Activities:  I am the Head Student Athletic Trainer for Shore, you can always catch me on the sidelines of a game or in the training room. I am also a Member of the National Honor Society.
Future Goals/Plans:  I plan on attending a 4 year college studying Microbiology and Spanish, and then to receive a Masters Degree to become a Physician's Assistant with a focus in Infectious Diseases. I hope to in my future, research and take part in developing less synthetic and more natural forms of treatment for cancer and tumor patients. I am currently studying to become bilingual in Spanish, and would love to travel throughout Central and South America treating patients.
