    Surfrider Club

The Shore Regional High School Surfrider Club is committed to protecting our beaches and oceans for environmental and recreational purposes.  Through this club, we hope to improve the quality of our beaches and raise community awareness of environmental issues. This school club at SRHS functions under the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit organization, specifically other local clubs and the Jersey Shore Chapter.

Each year our club chooses a service project. In recent years we have accomplished the following:

    • We have successfully reduced the use of single-use plastics on our campus by conducting water bottle sales and instituting a classroom recycling program.
    • Our club has raised awareness of the excess of single-use plastics on the campus with our Rise Above Plastics Art Contest.
    • We have cared for our local beaches through cleanups and dune grass plantings.

We look forward to meeting new environmental stewards and continuing to green our school and community.
