    Course Description

     

    Digital Photography 1 is a half year course that focuses on learning the techniques and principles of digital photography, including the usage of a digital camera.  Students will learn to use and manipulate the different settings and identify each function.  Students will develop an intimate relationship with photographic elements, such as composition, lighting and art.  Additionally, they will explore the history of photography, learning about scientific and technological developments, important innovators in the field, and relevance within diverse cultural contexts.  

    Components and Sections Developed

     

    Understand technical and aesthetic differences between traditional and digital photography.

    Composition and the art of structuring photographs and editing digital images.

    Utilization of a digital camera in a variety of photographic assignments

    Analyze, critique and discuss ideas in works of photography.

    Create original works of art of increasing complexity and skill that reflect their feelings and point of view.

    Describe the relationship involving the art maker, the process, the product and the viewer.

    Demonstrate proper camera and digital processing techniques in production of a work of art
