Name: Alex Patton
My role model is my grandfather. He had taught me many essential life lessons. He was a very hard worker and a dedicated man. He also taught me that to grow you need to leave your comfort zone, which is something that I value. Most importantly he taught me that family is the key; he was at every event he could be at, cheering on his grandchildren that he was incredibly proud of. Family are the people that will always be there to support and guide you, therefore they are the people to hold closest.
Teacher with the most impact: All of my teachers at Shore have made a huge impact on me. They all care deeply about education and I am very fortunate for them all. Freshman year, I had Mrs. Cook for honors biology. Her class was very difficult and she always pushed her students to reach their potential. I am grateful that Mrs. Cook pushed me so hard, it prepared me for the rest of my high school years. Ms. Bahrs (AP Language and Comp.) and Mrs. Burley (US History) both are very influential. They always bring a good attitude to the classroom, making learning enjoyable through a great environment. Every teacher I've had has helped ready me for the next level.
Activities: I am a part of the baseball team, swim team, stage crew, Great Books Group, and Interact Club
Future Goals/Plans: After I attend college and earn a degree, I want to become an astronaut. As ridiculous as it sounds, it has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid. Space has always intrigued me and I hope to one day make my childhood dream a reality.
