Name: Olivia Dicopoulos
Role Model: I do not have one role model, because many people have influenced my life. My mother and my father are my role models because they work hard, and they are dedicated to whatever task they take on. They also know how to put on a brave face and take on any challenge that comes their way. My brother is also my role model because he is one of the most grateful and humorous people I have ever met. My family members are my role models because they are generous and creative people.
Teacher with the most impact: Mr. Labush, Mr. Mullarney, Mrs. Koontz, and Mrs. Nora "Ike" McCormick have had the greatest impact on my high school career at Shore Regional High School. When I had Mr. Labush as my Sophomore English teacher, he challenged me everyday whether it was about Greek food or Holden's physiological disorders. If it weren't for Mr. Mullarney, I would not be majoring in Chemistry in college. Everyday in his class I learn many new things about Chemistry, and I have a few good laughs. Mrs. Koontz was one of the most compassionate teachers I have ever had. She always knew how to make me smile, although sometimes she might have talked a little too much about Atticus Finch. Finally, but not least, Mrs. Nora "Ike" McCormick has impacted my daily life at Shore Regional because she has given me a place to go to during lunch or after school for me to talk, eat, vent, or ice. These educators have shaped who I am as a person, and I would not be the person I am today without them.
Activities: I am currently a member of National Honor Society (President), Surfrider (Vice President), SAW, Beacon, Student Athletic Trainers, and Interact. I also play field hockey and lacrosse!
Future Goals/Plans: I plan to attend NYU in the fall of 2015, and double major in Chemistry and Film. I would then like to pursue my acting career while I'm attending NYU. I also want to travel all over the world, and somehow work with elephants!
Personal Quote: "If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them" (Thoreau).
Name: Rob Gialanella
Role Model: My role model would have to be my Dad. I have always looked up to him due to his diligence and uplifting personality. I aspire to be like him one day.
Teacher with the most impact: One teacher that has had a large impact on me would be Mr. Nicol. I've had Mr. Nicol every year and I always enjoy his class. Also, being a basketball coach, he has influenced me as a player.
Activities: Golf, Basketball, Medical Explorers
Future Goals/Plans: I plan to attend a good college, preferably in the South. After college I then plan to attend medical school and become a doctor.
Personal Quote: "Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there." -Will Rogers
