The Middle States Standards for Accreditation are rigorous criteria for quality and include holistic and multifaceted descriptors of best practice in the identified area. They define the level of quality required in each area of an institution’s educational programs, operations, and services expected of all accredited institutions. Each Standard is amplified by a set of Indicators of Quality that show possible evidence or ways that a school can demonstrate it meets the Standard for Accreditation. The Indicators of Quality for the Standard identify the types of evidence that, when taken together, indicate whether the school meets the Standard. Meeting the Standard means that the Standard describes the school to an acceptable degree.
