Michael Vaccarino Technology Coordinator Mr. Vaccarino embarked on his Educational Technology career with the Union City Board of Education in 1998. After 2 years he moved into the private sector with Verizon Business (VZB). At VZB, he interacted with several branches of the company including Field Operations, the Operational Resource Center and Web Hosting Operations. During this time, he received awards for being part of the VZB disaster recovery efforts of 9/11 and the 2003 NYC Blackout. He also became a Certified Cisco Network Associate. After seven years with Verizon Business he brought his newly acquired skills back to a public education forum. In 2007 Mr. Vaccarino was hired as the Network Administrator with the Point Pleasant Boro School district. He remained there for two years until he was appointed to Technology Coordinator at Shore Regional High School. After stabilizing the infrastructure his focus has turned toward innovative technologies inside and out of the classroom. He is bridging the gap between informational, educational and classroom technologies. A big part of achieving this goal has been the success of integrating new technologies with Google Apps for Education. His immediate goal is to enhance the learning experience by using the new Google centered campus for faculty, staff and students rather than the traditional classroom “sage on the stage “ lectures.
